3) I sort of hate the NYT Book Review, but I read it faithfully.
4) I still pay for TV, but I'm going to give it up next month. Really.
5) I'm starting to find Glee annoying.
6) I'm secretly fond of iceberg lettuce.
7) I have at least ten pairs of shoes I can't take a step in, but I won't get rid of them.
I'm going to pass the award on to

Elaine EM Smith
Anne Gallagher

  3. Congratulations on your award! Very cool. Haha, I had to laugh that you are secretly fond of iceberg lettuce. That's hilarious, esp since I tend to scorn the stuff (yeah, I'm a lettuce snob).

  4. Congratulations on the award. Well placed. And did I ever tell you how awesome it is that you showcase Women Who Run With The Wolves on your blog header?

  5. Could I say I love the posts - I've been linking from Twitter.
Congratulation on your award. Thank you for passing it on to me. I'm going to fulfil my duties and post the post. ;)
I find iceberg lettuce icy - a big chew. The bitter little leaves of others lettuce, and any that are red, I try to hide under things and leave.

  7. Well, thanks for that!! And congrats to you!
I'm in the same boat about the NYT Book Review. And no matter how much I wish it ill-will, it still shows up in my mailbox like a bad penny.

  9. Hey congrats to you. And thanks from me. I had to laugh though, you wouldn't think I'm so stylish if you saw me right now.

I'm still sick too. I wish I knew what it was exactly so I could fight it.

  10. Thanks everybody. The weirdest thing about this virus is that it doesn't seem to get any better. Every day I wake up and say "Today I'll get back to normal life." Then the coughing starts. And keeps going. And going. It's behaving like pneumonia, but I'm refusing to use the word.

Anne--I hope your virus isn't the same one. It's so annoying.

  11. Hope you are feeling better soon. It may have gone to a bronchial infection in which case you'll need antibiotics. (I used to get these every winter following a cold.) Meanwhile, any award you get is truly deserved! This is not only a stylish blog but intelligent, insightful and just plain addicting. I start reading your old posts, the ones before I followed you, and just can't stop. So glad I found your blog!

  12. Congratulations :) Okay, I love the shoe thing. We hold on to them years after our feet have gone south with other parts of our anatomy. Since the NYT is the last of two papers nation-wide with a book review, we must remain faithful.

It is about time you got an award. Yeah, and Glee was bound to get annoying, except that I love Kirk and the Ditsy blonde.

  13. KarenG--Thanks! you made my day.

Florence--I think everybody on Glee has a great future. They're all fantastic performers. It's just that the show's premise is so limiting. The writers have nowhere to go.

  14. Congratulations! How wonderful to be recognized for being stylish. And my hubby shares your #6. Although he's not at all secret about it. When we go out to eat he comes right out and asks the wait staff if the house salad is made with iceburg lettuce. ;o)
