I’ve been given yet another lovely award—by the amazingly versatile writer and “mommy-blogger” Aisha Iqbal, a Pakistani-American writer represented by the Sandra Dijkstra agency.
This means I have to tell you 7 more things about myself:
1) I live in (well, right next to) the place Oprah just named the “happiest town in America ." I figure I must have done something really great in my last lifetime to deserve to live in San Luis Obispo.
2) I’ll be teaching at the Central Coast Writers Conference in September. If you have a hankering to visit the happiest town in America and learn my techniques for successful Slow Blogging and Social Networking for the Anti-Social you can get more info here
3) I recently won a fantastic design for a cover of my out-of-print romantic suspense novel, Food of Love from the FABULOUS photographer Meghan Derico. Check her out here .
4) I’ll be reissuing the novel for Kindle, etc, as soon as I figure out what the hell I’m doing.
5) I seem to be reading more mysteries and less romantic fiction as I age.
6) I’m aging fast. I have a birthday coming up in less than three weeks.
7) I just finished what I think is the best book I’ve ever written. It’s based on a real unsolved Hollywood mystery, which has been called one of the Ten Most Notorious Hollywood Sex Scandals of All Time. Since the victim was a friend of mine, I may know more about this case than anybody else alive. But there are no zombies.
And I need to pass the award on to more deserving bloggers. Going a bit international, I choose--
Emily Cross at the Chronicles of Emily Cross in Ireland
Alison Tait at Life in a Pink Fibro in Australia
Cathe Olson at Cathe's Kitchen in the Happiest Town in America (She has fantastic vegan recipes!)

Congratulations! And I swear when you reach a certain age, the birthdays occur twice a year.
Congratulations! Can't wait to read the reissue!
That's great about the cover design. Yes, do Kindle! I haven't figured out yet out to do it!! You'll probably figure it out easier than I will!!!
I LOVE mysteries. Always have, more than romance, unless it's Romantic Mysteries, with emphasis on the mystery. (Maybe romance is a mystery!)

Hollywood sex scandal! Murder! No Zombies! OMG, when will I get to read it?
I love your posts and glad you like the award :) I love your diverse blogging topics; though they center on writing and blogging- they are very varied within the topics and I enjoy that :)
Congratulations on the award and all the good stuff going on. Way to go, girl! You're not alone looking at that calendar...or with reading more mysteries.
Thanks for the award!!! First time for this one :)
Congrats too on the reissue and the book cover, and I'm sure you contribute to your town being the happiest in America :)
Good luck with re-releasing your book. What a great idea for your new book.
Aging fast, Anne? Don't give it a thought! You're only getting better, right? Loved the previous post, too, about publishers.
You're all so sweet! Thanks!
Ruth, how did you put those musical notes in a comment? They're awesome. You're way more cyber-hip than I.
It's actually quite depressing. I wanted to reference the song so I opened a "special characters" window, looked & looked, couldn't find the musical notes. It led me to something called "hex" which is a list of numerical codes that allegedly created oddball symbols. No dice. So I googled "musical notes," found a likely suspect, opened it, et voilĂ !
Then I copied & pasted.
So that's my cyber-hipness in all its pathetic glory. lol
If I ever want notes again, I'm coming right back here, copying & pasting.
Congratulations, Anne. You go, Girl! Can't wait for the reissue...er...what's Kindle? Not a reference to book burning I hope. For those who haven't read Food of Love: you're in for a treat. Anne, keep up the good work spreading the happiness beyond the bounds of SLO town.
Congratulations, Anne! On the award, for the cover and the rerelease of "Food of Love" (a great novel)and for finishing your latest treat for the reading masses! All good stuff that you deserve. Oh, yeah...and for living in the "happiest town" in the USA :)
Richard and Christine--thanks! One of the things holding me back is I'm kind of afraid to re-read the book. I'm not the same writer I was when I wrote it a decade ago. It helps to be reminded that people enjoyed it.
This is a first for me and a for some reason I'm nervous. I forced myself to comment because I wanted to congradulate you on your award, your birthday and your blog. It is fabulous. Keep up the good work and remember there are others out there older than you and still plugging away.
